GRIESBACH GOES BACK-TO-BACK WITH ANOTHER SLM WIN

KAUKAUNA, Wis. (July 23, 2026) – Grant Griesbach picked up his second straight Schmitty’s Tickets Super Late Model win, and third on the season, in Thursday night’s Fox River Racing Club action at Wisconsin International Raceway Presented by Crown Equipment.

Griesbach weaved through traffic early, took the lead on lap eight, then held off the advances of fast qualifier Sawyer Effertz.

Jordan Thiel took an early lead in the 30-lap headliner for the Super Late Models.  The outside lane came with him at the start with Andy Monday following into Second and Griesbach into Third.  Effertz quickly moved up, as well, securing Fourth on lap three.

Riding the outside lane, Griesbach took Second and set his sights on Thiel.  He went to the outside on lap eight to make his pass. Two laps later, it was Effertz following into Second.

As the laps clicked off, Chad Butz was on the move. Unfortunately his race came to an abrupt end when he lost power coming back to lap 11.

Griesbach was able to get away from Effertz on the restart and build a slight advantage. Effertz chewed away several times, got close to Griesbach, but was unable to make his move.  Griesbach pulled away slightly in the final three laps to secure the win.  Behind them, Riley Stenjem made a move on lap 21 to take Third from Andy Monday.

BENNETT CASHES OUT WITH RETURN TO PRO LATES

Extra money was on the line for the Fox City’s Towing Pro Late Models, bringing extra laps and extra competition into the division for the night.  Former Champ Braison Bennett survived some early happenings and went on to take the win.

Brian Henry took the early lead and was followed to the front by Alex Stumpf and Andy Kluck.  After an incident involving Matt Wittman and Chase Solomon on lap three, a restart shook up the field.  Another incident saw Wayne Posselt, Jesse Oudenhoven, Brent Strelka and Tim Baumann involved.  All had to restart at the tail.

Once the field restarted again, Kluck secured the lead from Henry with Stumpf and Bennett in tow. Stumpf took the lead on lap five and Bennett followed immediately.  Another caution on lap nine set the table once again.

Stumpf was able to fend off Bennett initially on the restart, but Bennett held close.  However, Stumpf appeared to lose power down the backstretch on lap 12.  Bennett initially bumped him due to the suddenness of Stumpf slowing, then made the pass.  Stumpf regained power, but eventually ducked off a few laps later with the issue still lingering.

As Bennett cruised up front, Brent Strelka was marching back through the field.  He was able to get back to Third and finish in that position behind Bennett and Kluck.

PHILIP MEYERHOFER GRABS SUPER STOCK FEATURE

Philip Meyerhofer dashed to the lead off a lap five restart and went on to win the 20-lap Novus Auto Glass Super Stock feature.

Logan Boldt took an early lead and held the advantage until the yellow on lap five. Meyerhofer elected to use the outside for the restart and seized control of the pack coming off turn two.

Cruising out front, Meyerhofer did not shake Boldt, who kept in close proximity.  Boldt had several chances to get back to Meyerhofer, but could not make the pass.  Meyerhofer went on to win by a few car lengths over Boldt with Jake Vandenberg holding Third.

VAN HANDEL BACK TO SPORT TRUCK VICTORY LANE

Jason Van Handel became just the third different winner in the Wisconsin Sport Truck with his win in the 20-lap feature. Despite being involved in an early incident, Van Handel was able to march back through the field and secure the victory.

Tanner Fickel led early. The yellow fell on lap two when Mason Calmes, Brady Vanderloop, Jeremy Lange and Van Handel were involved in an incident. All went to the tail of the field.

On the restart Fickel held court over Quentin Calmes and Kyle Quella. The caution fell again for a dust up involving Quella and Tommy Gee on lap five.  This set the table for drivers to make their way back through the field.

Leading the charge was Van Handel who found himself in Second by lap 14 with Gee following him into Third.  Van Handel then took the lead on lap 15.  One lap later Mason Calmes took Second away, but the lead was too large to catch up to Van Handel.  Brady Vanderloop rounded out the Top Three.

WOLLER SWEEPS CROWN VICS

Justin Woller took wins in both 12-lap Crown Vic features to round out the division’s season.

In the first feature Woller grabbed the lead on lap six and took the win over Matt Torphy and Nate Van Wychen.

In the second feature it looked like Mitch Opsahl was on his way to the win after making a bold four-wide pass at the start of the race.  However, Woller closed in by lap nine and made a pass to the outside for the win. Opsahl finished Second, and Torphy was Third.

WIESE TAKES SIZZLIN’ 4 VICTORY

Andy Wiese took the lead at the drop of the green in the Roundabout Bar and Grill Sizzlin’ 4 feature and held on for his first win of the season.

Wiese held court early over Alex Degroot with Jeremy Czarapata and Justin Fickel closing in on the leaders. Eventually Czarapata came to challenge Wiese, but was unable to make the pass. Wiese went on to win by a nose at the line.

VANDEWETTERING TAKES FIGURE 8S

Craig Vandewettering made a pass on Donny Van Camp on lap three of the 13-lap Marty Nussbaum Racing Figure Eight feature.  As Peter Wilz went off the track with an issue, the pass on Van Camp proved to be the winning move for Vandewettering.

Next week the Fox River Racing Club celebrates WIR icon Terry Van Roy, who won more than 20 Championships at the track in his career. The night will also see the WIR ¼-Mile Late Models back on the card. Racing begins at 6:30pm.
