November 2023 Meeting Notes

DATE: Monday, November 27, 2023 TIME: 7 pm

PLACE: Meeting took place at the Colonial House in Freedom President Tom Hockers called the meeting to order a 7:00 pm

Secretary’s Report: Secretary’s Report has been posted on our website: www. frrc.us . Rob Thomson asked if there are any additions and/or corrections recommended to the Secretary’s Report. If so, please raise your hand or e-mail Secretary Rob Thomson at RobThomson99@gmail.com

Motion to accept made by Jacoby Pollei. The motion was seconded. No objections were made and the motion passed.

Marty Nussbaum provided the Treasurer’s financial report. Please see Marty for specific details on numbers. Motion to accept made by Sawyer Effertz. The motion was seconded. No objections were made and the motion passed.

OLD Business

  • Reminder-The Banquet is January 20th at Colonial House; Sponsors needed. -Please see Sarah Gilbert or Marty Nussbaum after the meeting.
    • Wednesday Nov. 29th Roundabout Bar will have Banquet tickets for sale from 6pm to 8 pm.
    • Other banquet ticket sales will be posted of FRRC Facebook page
  • Tom Hockers gave a summary of the POWAR meeting some of the biggest topics emails of suspensions, gate fees and the new tire discussions.
  • Ton Hockers also talked about how the bylaws that should have been posted after he was appointed president but were not changed. Tom read off the suggested changes and they will be voted on at the January meeting.
  • Ed Howard talked about the Pit Gate Prices and what is considered the racing surface. If you are under the age of 12 in the pits you are not allowed on the racing surface.
    • Great discussion and suggestions were brought up on safety for children in the pits.
  • Marty Nussbaum led the discussion on the Red, White and Blue series and where the club is working to try to keep the tradition going.
    • Super Late Model breakout meeting after the meeting to discus dates and payout to help the officers and SLM drivers be on the same page.
    • Larry Raygo and Mitch Opsahl brought up how the special series helps to bring more competitors in to race the RWB series.
    • RWB 2024 dates are June 13th (Red), July 4th (White) and August 15th (Blue)
  • Length of 2024 Season: VOTE:
    • 16 weeks (5/16/24—8/29/24)- 10 ;15 weeks (5/23/24—8/29/24) 24
    • We are going to have a 15-week race season due to this vote.
  • Divisional rules votes
    • Super Late Model- Updated rules were read and voted
      • Rules passed and will be posted soon
    • Pro Late Model- Updated rules were read and voted
      • Rules did not pass due to a question on weight on a motor.
      • Division will be meeting again to clarify their rules for January meeting
    • Quarter Miler Late Mile – Updated rules were read and voted
      • Rules passed and will be posted soon
    • Sport Trucks – No one was at the meeting Rob Thomson will reach out to the club
    • Street Stock- Updated rules were read and voted
      • Rules passed and will be posted soon
    • 4 cyl – Updated rules were read and voted
      • Rules passed and will be posted soon
    • Figure 8 – No Change in their rules.

NEW Business

  • Jacoby Pollei Asked if the 4 cylinders could have their feature moved back up earlier in the race night
    • Officers will take that into advisement when we finalize the race night plans in the upcoming months.
  • Larry McArthur asked if the books were read for the audit committee
    • Judy Monday explained that they are not ready tonight but should be ready in about two weeks for the audit committee
  • Mitch Opsahl asked for an update on the containers
    • Tom and Ed discussed some of the quotes that are being done and how the officers are working to get approval. The officers are hoping to have an update in the upcoming meetings.
  • Marty Nussbaum brought up that the nightly financials are going to be in a binder in the officer’s shack. Please feel free to come up and review on race nights.
  • Farmer brought up that we will need parking help
    • Please contact him if you know anyone that would be willing to work to help park cars
  • Even Beattie asked for a clarification on who the FRRC do pay on a race night
    • Marty answered the question with the break down of who the FRRC pays out for working on a race night.

Motion made to adjourn by Jacoby Pollei. The motion was seconded by Randy Schuler. The motion passed unanimously.

President Tom Hockers adjourned the meeting at 8:54 pm
