SAUTER SCORES FIRST SUPER LATE MODEL WIN

KAUKAUNA, Wis. (July 30, 2026) – Penn Sauter made the most of a select visit to the Fox River Racing Club’s Thursday Night Thunder program at Wisconsin International Raceway by collecting his first career Super Late Model win.

The 16-year-old Kulwicki Driver Development Program finalist and son of NASCAR Truck Series Champion Johnny Sauter slipped past Riley Stenjem on lap 19 of the 30-lap Schmitty’s Tickets Super Late Model feature presented by Bergstrom Auto Group, then went on to cruise to the win.

Cody Vanderloop paced the field early after securing the lead from Nick Egan.  On lap four, Egan felt the heat from Sawyer Effertz who soon took the position. Stenjem and Sauter followed Effertz to Third and Fourth.

On lap eight Stenjem worked to the inside line to battle Effertz for Second.  After four laps, Stenjem emerged with the position. Sauter followed the next lap.  Three laps later Stenjem caught Vanderloop and took away the lead. Sauter followed once again.

Sauter kept close tabs on Stenjem and prepared to make his move into the lead. On lap 19 he got to the inside line and took the top spot away. Stenjem held close for a few laps, but Sauter began to pull away by lap 21.

Behind them Effertz made his move to Third and brought along Andy Monday and Grant Griesbach.

Sauter went on to win with a healthy margin. The win was his first in a Super Late Model after setting multiple fast times and threatening for wins throughout 2026 at venues around the Midwest.

VERHAGEN TOPS PRO LATES

Todd Verhagen collected a win in the 20-lap Fox City’s Towing Pro Late Model feature after taking advantage of a restart on lap eight.

Brian Henry and Matt Wittman battled for the lead early in the going of the race until the first caution came out on lap two involving TJ Spierowski, Wayne Posselt and Jesse Oudenhoven.

Henry took advantage of the outside line on the lap-two restart and snatched the lead from Wittman with Verhagen following into Second. Verhagen began to challenge up until the second caution fell on lap eight.

After two failed restarts Henry was docked a row and Wittman was sent to the inside line alongside Verhagen.  Verhagen took advantage and sprung to the lead after the green flag fell.

Behind Verhagen, Bryan Monday secured Second from Wittman on lap ten. Alex Stumpf soon followed.  The battle was all Verhagen needed to build his lead to something that could not be overcome.

Verhagen went on to collect the checkered flag over Monday, Stumpf and Braison Bennett in Fourth.

BRANDON REICHENBERGER SWEEPS ¼-MILE LATES

Borrowing his dad’s ride for the night, Brandon Reichenberger made all of the right moves to secure wins in both Pete’s Auto WIR ¼-Mile Late Model features.

Dan Thomson led the first feature early as Reichenberger picked his way through the field. On a lap-six restart, Reichenberger was able to use the outside line to take the lead and eventually cruise to the win.

The second feature took a few wild turns that allowed Reichenberger to find his way to another win.

Justin Johnston led early and was building a solid lead until a yellow fell on lap two.  After the restart Rick Spoo and Philip Meyerhofer tangled which brought Ty Fietzer and Reichenberger into the mix on the restart.

After Meyerhofer took the lead, Reichenberger followed to Second. He quickly drifted to the outside line and grabbed the lead on lap seven. He went on to a convincing win to become the first driver this season to sweep wins in the division.

TREML DOMINATES SUPER STOCKS

After a quick battle at the start of the race, Jeff Treml went on to run away from the Novus Auto Glass Super Stock field for his second win of the season.

Treml and Jake Vandenberg disputed the lead early in the race until Treml secured the top spot on lap two.  As he started to build his lead, attention turned to Brady Vanderloop who was starting to climb through the field.

Vanderloop took Third on lap six, then caught Vandenberg to battle for Second on lap eight. However, Vandenberg held tough, and Vanderloop was unable to get by until lap 18.  By that point Treml had built a huge advantage and waltzed to the win.

VANDERLOOP GETS IT DONE IN SPORT TRUCKS

Brady Vanderloop might have run out of time in the Super Stock feature, but time was definitely on his side in the 20-lap Wisconsin Sport Truck feature.

Vanderloop found himself at the front of the field by lap two and held on to grab his third win of the season.

After the first start saw an incident with Jeremy Lange and Grant Gilbert, the field scrambled quickly when he green dropped. Vanderloop took the lead from Tanner Fickel on lap two and fast qualifier Mason Calmes went three-wide to get past Fickel and his brother Quinten Calmes on lap three.  Quinten and Fickel made contact, bringing out another caution.

Vanderloop was able to outduel Mason Calmes on the restart. Soon Tom Gee would join the tussle and take Second from Calmes.  Despite losing the spot Gee ultimately would regain Second.

As the laps clicked off Vanderloop built his lead and captured the victory. Gee was able to hold off Calmes to finish Second.

CZARAPATA BACK TO WINNING WAYS IN SIZZLIN 4S

Jeremy Czarapata seized his opportunity to get back into Victory Lane with the Roundabout Bar and Grill Sizzlin’ 4s in their feature event.

After leading early Kaiden Volousek started to feel the heat from Mason Hungerford, Czarapata and Billy Schommer.  On lap 10 Czarapata slipped to the inside of Volousek and Hungerford as they battled for the lead, leaving Schommer behind.

The move proved to work for Czarapata as he grabbed the lead and did not look back. Schommer was able to battle his way to Second on lap 14, but could not track down Czarapata.

MEYERHOFER WINS TVR 14 IN FIGURE 8S

The Marty Nussbaum Racing Figure 8s honored iconic racer Terry Van Roy with a 14-lap feature.  It brought all the chaos and excitement TVR would have loved.

Mitch Opsahl led early until a red flag on lap two.  On the restart Josh Anthony rocketed into the lead and brought Mike Meyerhofer with.

As the field scrambled, Meyerhofer seized his opportunity and took the lead on lap four.  The race continued with a sequence of near misses in the X until Mitch Opsahl had paused and Craig Vandewettering was bumped into the stopped machine in the X.  Both drivers were ok.

After the clean up Meyerhofer surged away on the restart on his way to the win.

The Super Stocks are the highlighted class with the Stan “The Man” Memorial honoring Stan Gracyalny. The WIR ¼-Mile Late Models will also be back in action.  Racing begins at 6:30pm.
