February, 23th 2026 Meeting Notes

DATE: Monday, February 23th, 2026 TIME: 7 pm

PLACE: Meeting took place at the Colonial House in Freedom 

President Tom Hockers called the meeting to order a 7:00 pm

Secretary’s Report has been posted on our website: www. frrc.us Rob Thomson asked if there are any additions and/or corrections recommended to the Secretary’s Report. If so, please e-mail RobThomson99@gmail.com Motion to accept made by Mitch Opsahl the motion was seconded. No objections were made and the motion passed.

-Andy Monday provided the Treasurer’s financial report was read by Andy. Motion to accept made by Ron Kohl. The motion was seconded. No objections were made and the motion passed.

OLD BUSINESS:

  • Mike Butz asked a question on the whole body of the club voting on the rules and not the people in the division only.
    • This was a large discussion on why the whole club body votes on the rules not just the ones that race in that division. Many members gave the reason why and the history of it.
  • Divisional Rules for voting
    • Pro Late Model: Matthew Wittman read the tire schedule to the group.
      • The rules passed with a seven to zero vote.
    • Quarter Mile Late Model:
      • Rules are coming soon and will be posted.
    • Street Stock: Larry Raygo read off the updated tire rule.
      • The tire rule passed seven to zero votes
    • Crown Vic Class: Rules have been posted on FRRC.US
      • Any questions reach out to Mitch Opsahl
  • Tom Discussed the changes to the bylaws
    • Changing the officers’ elections to September meeting.
    • Splitting the BOD into two groups was done after the last meeting.
  • Sarah Gilbert discussed where we are with nightly sponsors for the Pavilion turn 4 tent.
    • Vote to approve the money to rent a tent for the turn 4 was unanimously approved.

  • New Membership forms
    • All can be printed off FRRC.US and Mailed in
    • Available at the meetings
  • Pit Parking
    • Please let either Michael Anthony or Ethan Beattie know if you need a space for next season.
    • Thank you to these two for doing this for the club.
  • Team Driving

NEW BUSINESS/ Topics from the Floor.

  • Jack Effertz brought up the SLM tire schedule and the lengths of the feature 30 laps
    • Micheal Anthony stated that this was talked about in the breakout meeting after the last monthly meeting.
  • Jordan Thiel brought up 2.1.5 about breaking the qualifying line.
    • Jordan listed a couple of situations of it from the past year and stated that two laps were given in stead of just one.
    • Large discussion happened to make sure it is correctly applied to all the competitors.
    • If someone was not in the correct order then they would be penalized and only given one lap.
      • Voted on unanimously approved that if you are not in line up correctly (SLM/PLM) you will only be given one lap of qualifying.

Jacoby Pollei made a motion to end the meeting and it was second by many in the room and the meeting ended at 8:28PM
