STENJEM SOARS TO SECOND VICTORY OF THE SEASON

KAUKAUNA, Wis. (August 21, 2025) –  Riley Stenjem dominated the 35-lap Schmitty’s Tickets Super Late Model feature presented by Pierce Manufacturing Thursday night. It was Stenjem’s second Fox River Racing Club victory at Wisconsin International Raceway.

After a botched initial start, Stenjem vaulted to the lead from the outside front row and dominated the entirety of the feature event.  Despite action behind him, there was no catching Stenjem on the night.

In the early going Jordan Thiel moved to Second, bringing Andy Monday to Third and Grant Griesbach to Fourth.  On lap 7 both Monday and Griesbach moved past Thiel. They were about a quarter of a straightaway behind Stenjem, who continued to hold a healthy lead.

As the laps clicked off, Stenjem maintained his advantage.  Monday was left to try to hold off Griesbach.  Despite a couple of looks, Griesbach stayed conservative in the battle – looking to maintain his lead in the Championship standings.  Stenjem went on to win by a convincing margin over Monday, Griesbach, and a hard-charging Sawyer Effertz, who had chased down Monday and Griesbach in the closing laps.

With his Third Place finish and fast time earlier in the day, Griesbach increased his point lead to 32 points over Effertz with one week remaining.

STRELKA SURVIVES WHIRLWIND OF ACTION TO WIN IN PRO LATES

Former division Champion Brent Strelka made the most of guest appearance in the Fox City’s Towing Pro Late Models by picking up the feature win.  The event was highlighted by some wild happenings.

The initial start had to be redone after several drivers spun coming to the green flag.  None were damaged and all were able to continue.  Justin Woller led initially, but Andy Kluck took the lead on lap five.  The first pause of the race came on lap six for an incident involving Brady Baldry and Bryan Monday.

On the restart Kluck was able to get away from Jesse Oudenhoven.  Point leader and defending Champ Alex Stumpf was on the move at this time, finding himself in Third by lap nine.  On lap 13 Stumpf took Second and brought Strelka along into Third.

Another caution fell when Monday and Braison Bennett made contact one lap later. Bennett backed into the outside wall and was unable to continue.  This set up a chaotic sequence on the restart.

Kluck and Stumpf led the field to green. When the field got into turn one, Kluck spun and race control deemed there was contact between him and Stumpf. Both were sent to the tail, handing the front row to Strelka and TJ Spierowski.

After a couple laps of back-and-forth, Strelka was able to slip away from Spierowski and build his lead with three laps to go.  Spierowski held Second with Jesse Oudenhoven crossing the line Third.

BAUMANN CLAIMS ¼-MILE LATE MODEL TITLE IN DIVISION’S SEASON FINALE

The Pete’s Auto WIR ¼-Mile Late Models wrapped up their point season on Thursday night. Defending Champion Tim Baumann took care of business to claim his second straight title in the division. Features were claimed by Dan Thomson and Ty Fietzer.

Thomson secured the lead early in the first 15-lap feature. As he led, attention turned to the top point drivers Baumann and Rick Spoo.  Spoo found an unfortunate end to his night as he tangled with Sean Springstroh. He sustained too much damage to continue, leaving Baumann and Fietzer to settle the Championship race in the second feature.

The win did not come easy for Thomson, however. He was challenged by Henry Neerdaels on the final restart, but was able to hold on by half a car length at the line.  Mike Meyherofer was Third and Baumann Fourth.

Fietzer secured the lead early in the second feature and saw his biggest challenge in weaving through lapped traffic late in the going.  Despite doing what he had to – taking the win – there was not enough gap for Fietzer to pass Baumann in the point standings. Baumann went on to finish Fourth once again – which was more than good enough to hang on to the title.

PHILIP MEYERHOFER GETS FIRST SUPER STOCK WIN

Young Philip Meyerhofer picked up his first ever Novus Auto Glass Super Stock win holding several veteran racers at bay in the feature event.

Meyerhofer took the lead at the drop of the green and set the pace in front of Mike Gilson and Chuck Gilbertson Jr.  Gilson continued to hang close to Meyerhofer with Trevor Howard soon entering the battle.  Just as Howard was about to make his move on the outside a yellow paused the action on lap 12.

The inside line proved to be strong for Meyerhofer as he held on to the lead off the restart.  Meyerhofer would have to hold on after one final restart, but did well to maintain his line and hold on for the victory.

QUELLA GETS FIRST SPORT TRUCK WIN OF 2025

Kyle Quella seemed overdue for a win in the Wisconsin Sport Trucks. It came on Thursday night’s 20-lap feature.

Masyn Liedke led early with Quella swiftly moving to Second.  Quella put pressure Liedke by lap three and took the lead by lap six.  After a few challenges back from Liedke, Quella was able to build a lead.

At halfway point leader Brady Vanderloop was on the move. He was able to secure Third from Mason Calmes then took Second on lap 17.  Vanderloop chopped away at the disadvantage, and caught Quella right as the field got to the checkered flag. The win helped keep Quella’s title hopes alive, but Vanderloop will hold a 23-point edge heading into the final race of the season next week.

WIESE SCORES SIZZLIN’ 4 WIN

Andy Wiese took his first Roundabout Bar and Grill Sizzlin’ 4 Feature win of the season in a green-to-checkered event.

Eli Schommer took the lead from Wiese at the drop of the green, but was unable to get away. Wiese swung to the outside and took the lead on lap five. He then cruised through lapped traffic on the way to the win.

Jeremy Czarapata found his way to the Fourth position and padded enough of a cushion to clinch the division Championship before next week’s finale.

ANTHONY TAKES FIGURE 8S

Josh Anthony took his second Marty Nussbaum Racing Figure 8 feature win of the season.  Anthony survived mass chaos behind him – including several near misses in the X between the point leaders Craig Vandewettering and Ethan Beattie.
