THIEL DOMINATES TO COLLECT SECOND WIN OF 2025
BUCHANAN, Wis. (July 31, 2025) – Jordan Thiel put forth a dominant performance as he collected his second Fox River Racing Club Schmitty’s Tickets Super Late Model win of the season at Wisconsin International Raceway.
Thiel wrestled the lead from Riley Stenjem on lap five of the 35-lap feature presented by Vanderloop Equipment, Luvata of Appleton, and ProAmpac.
At the drop of the green Stenjem took the lead from Taylor Vandermoss and looked to open up an advantage. However, Thiel quickly shot to Second and set his sights on the top spot. By lap four Thiel was ready to pounce. After a couple of laps of side-by-side racing, Thiel powered ahead and started to gap the field.
Behind Thiel and Stenjem, the battles for Third and Fifth remained tight. Sawyer Effertz continued to pressure Andy Monday for Third while Grant Griesbach and JJ Vanderloop also battled in the top Five.
As the laps clicked off it became clear that Thiel had the field covered. No cautions would fall to spoil his ride to the win. Stenjem held a healthy advantage in Second while Effertz and Griesbach battled past Monday into Third and Fourth.
STUMPF FENDS OFF SPIEROWSKI IN PRO LATES – AGAIN
It has felt like the Stumpf and Spierowski show in the Fox City’s Towing Pro Late Models over the last few events. Both drivers have battled for the lead in the last three races. This time it was Alex Stumpf who emerged victorious.
Andy Kluck and Wayne Posselt exchanged the lead early and through the only caution on lap four. On that restart, Braison Bennett, Stumpf and TJ Spierowski climbed into the Top Four. Bennett slid past Kluck on lap 9 to take the lead, but Stumpf and Spierowski were right behind.
Stumpf quickly swung to the inside of Bennett and grabbed the lead on lap 13. Spierowski followed on the last lap and began to pressure Stumpf. Despite several strong challenges in the final five laps, Spierowski was unable to make the pass.
The win was Stumpf’s fourth of the season, allowing him to pad his point lead entering the final month of action.
BENNETT AND BAUMANN TAKE WIR QUARTER-MILE LATE MODEL WINS
Braison Bennett and Tim Baumann split the 15-lap features in the Pete’s Auto WIR ¼-Mile Late Models. It was the first win of the season for both in the highly competitive field.
In the first feature Bennett – driving Ty Fietzer’s machine – chased down Dan Thomson and made his move on lap six to secure the lead. Bennett went unchallenged from there on the way to the win.
In the second feature Baumann caught a few breaks early to find himself in contention. Larry Gitner led early, before Kaden Kostichka took the top spot away. However, Baumann was in tow and swiped the lead from Kostichka on lap four. He also sailed to victory.
STEINBACH SCORES FIRST SUPER STOCK WIN
Dylan Steinbach took advantage of a late restart to take his first career Novus Auto Glass Super Stock feature win.
Jake Fuller led the lion’s share of the feature, but was shadowed for most of the race by Steinbach. After a restart on lap 15, Steinbach was able to find an opening and slide past Fuller. Several drivers followed past Steinbach as Fuller was caught on the outside, but none were able to mount a challenge.
BRADY VANDERLOOP GRABS FOURTH SPORT TRUCK WIN
The seas parted early in the Wisconsin Sport Truck feature for Brady Vanderloop as he found his way to the font and dominate the event.
Cadyn Liedke took the early lead then engaged in battle with Tom Gee Jr. As the two raced side-by-side Vanderloop found his way to Third by lap four. Just two laps later Vanderloop found an opening and powered to the lead.
Vanderloop went on to pull away from the pack as his teammate Jason Vanhandel worked to Second late in the race. Following him were Kyle Quella and Jason Plutz, who finished Fourth after starting last on the grid.
BILLY SCHOMMER TAKES AUSTIN BIRLING MEMORIAL IN SIZZLIN’ 4S
Billy Schommer took the lead after a restart on lap three of the 24-lap Austin Birling Memorial and went on to pick up his first Roundabout Bar & Grill Sizzlin’ 4 feature win of the season. Earlier in the year, Schommer’s teammate Alex DeGroot won in the same car.
The race was interrupted by an absolutely wild third lap. Andy Wiese was forced into the outside wall on the front stretch and rolled onto his roof, eventually coming to a halt on the half-mile. At the same time the machine of Kory Lorrigan erupted into flames. Lorrigan had pulled to the infield the lap prior and immediately exited the machine. Both drivers were unharmed.
Following the restart Schommer powered past Cody Vandenberg. He survived two more restarts to separate himself from the field and score the win.
ANTHONY COLLECTS BIRTHDAY VICTORY IN FIGURE 8S
Josh Anthony secured the lead at the start of the 13-lap Marty Nussbaum Racing Figure 8 feature and held off the pack on the way to his first win of the season. The win punctuated a birthday celebration for Anthony.
